Hello Students and Clearmont Parents,
My name is Mrs. Chelmecki and I look forward to helping each Clearmont student grow as an artist. The art room will be a place for each student to be their own ARTIST. I believe all children should be able to follow their intuitive curiosity when creating. Their artwork will not look alike, but should show signs of individual style and development. We will all work together to improve upon ideas and technique, talking with each other and thinking deeply about the artwork on view. Art can teach us so much about ourselves and others. Yes, it can be beautiful, but it has the potential to be so much more! Before joining the staff at Clearmont School, I taught k-8 art for three years in Chicago and taught 3rd and 4th grade in San Jose, California. I received my Masters of Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. Facilitating art classes is my passion! This is my 8th year as part of the Clearmont family. You will see me teaching art classes on Tuesdays, Fridays, and alternating Wednesdays. All parents are encouraged to help their child by asking them about their art, sharing compliments, asking questions, and making suggestions for improvement. Looking at and talking about art will be at the core of what we do, and everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Looking forward to a fantastic year!
